Below are some tips for you to stay safe in the event a fire occurs:

• Call 911
• Have a fire extinguisher handy and know how to use it 
• Leave your valuables 
• Cover your face 
• Stay outside 

Make sure your and your family members have a plan for when a fire occurs. Planning is the most crucial step to safety 

Using A Fire Extinguisher 

A good way to remember how to properly use a fire extinguisher is the PASS acronym

P- Pull the pin at the top of the extinguisher

A- Aim the nozzle

S- Squeeze the nozzle aimed at the base of the fire 

S- Sweep the fire extinguisher  back and forth until the fire is completely out
